Did Obama launch his campaign in Ayer’s living room?

The two just accused each other of lying about it, so someone’s pants are on fire.

Obama’s formal kick-off to announce his run for state senate was at the Hyde Park Ramada Inn on Sept. 19, 1995. Obama was introduced by Palmer in a room filled with supporters at the Ramada. In 1995 Ayers did have a coffee for Obama, but this was done by not only Ayers, but also many other residents of Hyde Park. It was their way of supporting a new candidate their support.

Meet and Greet “coffee’s” with local politicians are common practice if you are involved in local politics. My parents are hosting one with a local candidate for mayor of their town. It’s not a lauching ground for his political campaign. It’s not even an endorsment of him as a candidate. It’s an opportunity for a small group of people to sit around and chat about what’s going on in their lives and what effect politics can have on it. What changes do you want to see, etc.? I guess to me does it matter who provides the coffee if the intention is to discuss life and what we need to be doing?

You know the DA who tried to prosecute Ayers somewhere around Obama’s 8th birthday said that the link is illogical and makes no sense. And he also mentioned the fact that Ayers was never convicted.

When Obama was “paling around” with Ayers, so was everybody else in the room with them - some of whom were staunch conservative Republicans of their own ilk.

If they really want to “get” Obama, they should try reaching. For the truth. Things like he’s not the same color as Bush or McCain. That would be true. Other things like, he doesn’t travel

They may discover there’s nothing there, but Halloween is Friday night. Let’s see what other ghosts, goblins and spooks about Obama they can wrestle up between now and then. This is starting to sound like the Nutbush Comedy Hour.

You know the DA who tried to prosecute Ayers somewhere around Obama’s 8th birthday said that the link is illogical and makes no sense (–like we needed him to tell us that, huh?–). And he also mentioned the fact that Ayers was never convicted because of technicalities–pretty much similar to the “planted and tainted evidence” that OJ got in 1995.

When Obama was “paling around” with Ayers, so was everybody else in the room with them WHO HAD BEEN INVITED TO THE DINNER…some of whom were staunch conservative Republicans of their own ilk.

If they really want to “get” Obama, they should try reaching. For the truth. Things like he’s not the same color as Bush or McCain. That would be true. Other things like, he doesn’t travel in their elitist circles — that would be true. Things like he’s of mixed ancestry — you know, all the things conservatives usually hate about human beings who aren’t like them.
